Why We Like The Gym Classic Rope
When your training plan calls for long enduro sessions at the gym that push you to the edge of your fitness, you want a rope that stands up to the wear but won't wear you down—the Gym Classic Climbing Rope from Mammut does just that. The yarns of the sheath construction are incorporated to help protect your rope from abrasions while giving the rope a smooth overall texture for easier clipping and slack payout. With a 9.5mm diameter, the Gym Classic is light enough for pushing your grade yet hearty enough to withstand whippers.

Fantastic gym rope
Was looking for a rope that was a bit thinner for my alpine up belay device. Took a little to find this rope since everything around 40m is sold out. But once I got it works fantastic with my belay device great rope, again. Honestly no complaints great rope!

Stiff Catches Abound
Bought the rope expecting it to be soft, but it's extremely stiff and the catches hurt. But, it caught me, so that's worth a star.

Awesome Gym Rope
I absolutely love this rope. I tend to wear out gym ropes fairly quickly and have found that the Mammut 9.5 Gym Classic holds up better than any other rope I have ever used. On top of that, it handles beautifully - clips easily, feeds smoothly, and knots well. I actually like it so well that I ditched my previous go-to outdoor rope for the 70m, dry, bi-weave version of the same rope (the 9.5 Crag Classic). For me, it's the perfect balance of "beef" and lightness while also be tough. I highly recommend.

Perfect gym rope. Light, yet durable. Have taken numerous falls, good soft catch.

It didn't last as long as I thought it would and got dirty very quickly. Even indoors, there's a lot of chalk dust and dirt on the floor. We use this rope only in the gym 4x a week with 10-14 routes each session and it lasted about 4 months before the sheath got fuzzy and a bit loose in parts. We've used other ropes for much longer. It's fine for the price (which is why I bought it) but I think that the extra cost of a dry rope is worthit.

Easy to use gym rope
Basically what the title says. It feels good in the hand and is easy to tie in with. Obviously it's only for gym or pristine outdoor climbing since it lacks any kind of dry coating. It's a solid product for a good price. The rope isn't to heavy, flakes out easily and is easy to clip in with, it's one of those products that disappears when you use it, something you never have to think about. Is good rope.

It does what it says on the tin.
It performs like it should, which is about as good as you can get as a rope.

Best darn gym rope I've used
This rope has been my go to rope for gym sessions. It has done the easy, hard, and ugly without breaking a sweat. I have used it since black Friday 2022 and easily clocked 100 or more sessions on this bad boy. The rope does take quite a few runs before the kinky, knotty, annoying loops get ironed out but that is almost a given with any new rope. Besides that, I do not have any qualms with this rope. Its easy to pack, has some nice stretch to it when taking a fall, and seems to hold up. I have used MAMMUT's care videos to clean all my ropes and have now seen any fraying or sponginess in the sheath. Can't recommend enough, especially when on sale.
