Why We Like The Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Solar Sport Watch

When to rest, when to push a little harder, and when to turn around: the Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Solar Sport Watch tells us what we need to stay on track toward our goals. Constructed with military-grade materials and the capacity for topo maps, this training tool matches our grit and ambition as it tracks our health metrics and performance stats, while the plethora of activity profiles follows our every pursuit, from road races to pebble wrestling. With just three hours of sun exposure, the screen gives the battery a little extra juice, so we can keep going—up to 43 days in expedition mode—while the built-in LED flashlight helps us find our way if the sun taps out before us.

Expensive, poor features, clumsy to use

I figured since garmin had been doing navigation for decades they would make a smartwatch that could navigate-no luck. The maps are so poor that they don't even include the street I live on (it is a public road). To plot a trip you have to set up a course but after creating a course on my computer it wouldn't upload to my watch and it still couldn't navigate to an address. So for what I wanted it for the watch is pretty much useless. Save some money and get an apple watch

Really Not happy

It does everything you need!

I got my Fenix for Christmas. I’d used the Venu for 2years and loved it. Now the Fenix- it’s awesome abd does even more! Garmin are the BEST!

I love this watch!

I love the garmin fenix series. Upgraded to the 7 pro from a 5s. Way longer battery life and love the touch screen. Wish that garmin had a trade in program or recycling for the older versions of watches.

ECG app no longer works

I installed the ECG app and ran it twice. No, even after a factory reset, it no longer works.

Amazing

So far the Fenix7S Solar Pro is amazing. My only 2 issues, if you can call them issues, are: 1) its so complicated and comprehensive you almost need a class on how to use it for your own purposes; and 2) I bought the 42mm 7s because that is my prefered size for my other watches. However there are not any Garmin quick connect bands in the 20mm size that are long enough to go around a man's wrist. I had to get a 3rd party band to be able to wear this watch.

Excellent features and look

The watch face is easy to read while riding or running. The fact it connects to my Zwift trainer is fantastic. The light is a great feature and added bonus.

My first Garmin and I love it!

I weighed the Venu 3, Fenix Pro, and Epix Pro for months, and settled on the Fenix 7S Pro. I have tiny wrists and this watch fits really nicely. The reason I went for the Fenix over the Epix is that I read a review that said the Fenix is very watch-like whereas the Epix is more phone-screen-like and I love watches. I have absolutely no issue with the screen's brightness. It's lovely. And I love that it can be on dimly all the time without draining the battery. I have a stock analog face on and the way it reflects really makes it feel like it's got metal hands in there. I chose it over the Venu 3 because of the added features. I'm not the most active person, and I was hoping this would encourage me to do more and it totally does. I'm like my own science experiment now. And when I'm camping or traveling with my kids, the flashlight is SO handy. And frankly, I'm a worry wort, so the bread crumb feature when I hike in the woods with my kids is nice to have, especially since we got lost once before. It's a LOT of watch, but that is what makes it so fun. And I love that Garmin is compatible with almost anything. I've got an android tablet and a laptop (no phone) and it works with both. I'm really happy.

Health metrics and functionality

I switched from a different smart watch specifically to get better health metrics and longer battery life; I wish I had done this sooner! This watch has everything I wanted and more, if I can't figure out how to do something I just look on the Garmin website and it's easy to find the answer. One additional feature I never knew I needed is the flashlight, highly recommend.

So far so good

I originally bought this for my wife, but she thinks it’s too big for her, even though it’s the small. I am still figuring out a lot of the features. I was especially interested in the ski power function for cross country ski training. While the power readings may be usable when averaged over several seconds, they are too unreliable for instantaneous readings. Case in point: Some of the power readings during an easy warm-down after an intense interval session were considerably higher than during the high-effort intervals themselves. I think it is better to rely on the heart rate or even the respiratory rate to gauge your effort if needed.

Love this watch!

I've had a couple of Garmins in the past and am in love with this watch! The old 920 XT and 910 were great for multisport but the solar charging and the screen are what I love most about this. For being an athlete that maximizes my time out on a course, having solar was important. I just switched back to Garmin from Apple and was nervous about the size difference, but the 42mm felt great and I got used to it in no time. I just wish there were more bright and fun watch band colors available.
