Titleist utilized feedback from tour professionals when creating the new U•505, shaping the utility with a shorter blade length and shallower face that sits cleanly behind the ball.

Accuracy is a crucial element in long iron play, and thanks to a stable, re-engineered chassis and a lower center of gravity, the U•505 is now extraordinarily forgiving and produces tremendous ball speed across the face.  As a result, off-center strikes travel nearly the same distance as well-struck shots.  Additionally, the utility's single taper face improves performance towards the heel, tightening dispersion, and sharpening distance control.

While distance is a clear priority in the U•505, the elements required to produce it don't lend themselves to feel.  The R & D team at Titleist worked relentlessly to enhance the sensation at impact, refining their Max Impact Technology and adding dampening in the muscle badge to generate the frequencies preferred by discerning players.

All of the refinements in the U•505 demonstrate Titleist's unique goal of turning it into a utility that plays like an iron, and the sole is no exception.  Relying on input from tour pros and Vokey Design experts, the trailing edge of the U•505's Variable Bounce Sole was softened, allowing the club to flow faster through the turf, even after contact.
