Great Pack, Peace of Mind

This float pack is roomy, comfortable, and gives me (and my wife, despite my life insurance policy) peace of mind skiing in the backcountry. I can't overstate the improved comfort over my old pack. I'm carrying more weight, this pack being bigger, but it feels like I'm carrying less. I've used it for one season now, and am glad to have it. It's 40L, which is big for some tastes, but for me it's the perfect size for your standard gear plus a few backups, be that a second pair of gloves, extra water, or ski crampons. My former pack was 32L, and it was always a tight fit. The only light criticisms I have with it is 1) I wish it had come with a helmet net--the one I bought doesn't fit as well as it should. And 2) the pack loses its structural integrity and folds over a little about halfway up when unzipping. It's a small thing, but an improved design or structure might keep this from happening when you're fiddling around in the snow with gloves on. Slight inconvenience. Still love the pack.

The pack I've been waiting for

Was ready to upgrade to a larger touring pack, and after research settled on this bag, and am really happy with the product. The pack is light, the perfect amount of space for bigger days, colder weather, or even light multi-day travels. It can be tough to find packs that carry splitboards well, and this offers multiple carry options that all allow the airbag to deploy. The trigger is easy to pull. My only design feedback is the pocket where the avy gear goes (shovel, probe etc) is so deep that the gear slides to the bottom of it, and would take longer to get to if you had a full pack. I wish there was a way they stayed close to the top. I think this is a common problem with the larger airbag packs in general though.
